Pain Reprocessing Therapy is a powerful, innovative therapy that rewires the brain’s pain response, helping you overcome chronic pain and symptoms. PRT targets the emotional and psychological triggers of pain and symptoms, allowing you to break the cycle of discomfort and return to living a vibrant, active life.
Although pain and symptoms can be addressed psychologically, this doesn’t mean it’s all in your head! It’s very real. Neuroplastic pain can be excruciatingly painful, but there is no biological cause. The good news is that just as pain can be learned by the brain, it can be unlearned.
When there is tissue damage to the body, the brain sends out pain signals as a warning/alarm. In the case of neuroplastic pain/chronic symptoms, the brain is misinterpreting normal safe sensations from the body as dangerous and sends out a false pain alarm.
Studies have proven that chronic pain (back, neck, fibromyalgia, RSI, headaches and others) are normally neuroplastic as opposed to structural, and psychological processes (as in Pain Reprocessing Therapy) can reverse the pain.
How Pain Reprocessing Therapy Works:
PRT focuses on reprogramming how your brain processes pain signals. Even though physical injury or illness may have been the initial cause of pain or symptoms, PRT works to heal the brain’s pain pathways, essentially “retraining” the nervous system to stop perceiving pain or symptoms when no physical injury exists.
- Step 1: Psychoeducation around the neuroscience behind the pain / symptoms, this will be talked through in session and being guided towards medical studies and a myriad of information sources.
- Step 2: We identify and address the emotional and psychological triggers that may be contributing to your pain.
- Step 3: Through a combination of techniques, including mindfulness, somatic awareness, and reprocessing, we help you reduce or eliminate the brain’s pain signals.
- Step 4: Over time, the therapy helps the brain rewire itself, leading to sustained pain relief and symptom-free living.

I came to this work through my own lived experience of a chronic health condition which involved pain and a myriad of other symptoms. After multiple visits to multiple medical doctors and alternative practitioners, through which I at best gained temporary relief, I discovered PRT and mind body medicine and embarked on my own healing journey and today live symptom free.
